At Tassel Road Day Nursery and Preschool we offer a wide range of extracurricular activities for children.
In order for the children to explore the wider outdoor environment, we offer the opportunity to go on regular outings. The location of the nursery is ideal for walks (several Woodland Trust walks are on our doorstep) and children really enjoy interaction with animals, birds and insects on nature walks and pond visits.
Amongst the activities for preschool is the opportunity to attend regular water confidence lessons at Bury Leisure Centre. In addition to the lifeguard team at the pool our own staff take these sessions to ensure children are comfortable and with staff whom they have a relationship. These sessions are funded by the nursery.
Within the nursery children’s activities and facilities are appropriate to the age of the children, with preschool children given access to computers and a whiteboard to facilitate learning.
All children have access to our sensory garden, a section of our large well equipped grounds which stimulates the senses. Children experience all the senses through clever planting to represent smell, sound, texture etc. In addition we have two beds for children to plant flowers and vegetables as well as a willow tunnel which leads to our ‘bug logs’, a huge favourite for children who like creepy-crawlies. Children have free-flow access to the garden to encourage their enjoyment of the outdoors.
